Lightning: The White Stallion (1986)

Reviews and Comments

"We don't know who these people are. They've already stolen a horse. They may have kidnapped Emmet Fallin. They could be anybody! Even hoodlums!"

Not one scene in this family drama has a ring of truth to it; some are laughably false. Those who love horses may like the film for shots of the title character, while those who know about horses may be either amused or frustrated at the continual errors regarding their handling. (Some of the inaccuracies are as blatant as referring to a stallion as a "she.") Mickey Rooney is this film's only redeeming quality, and his scenes are too few to salvage it.
