Reviews and Comments

This screwball comedy never quite makes it off the ground, but it's certainly likeable enough. It's about a newly divorced woman (Claudette Colbert) and all the plans her ex-husband, children, and old high school flame have for her. It never cuts very deeply, but we sympathize with the characters, and that's just enough for us to be amused by the tangle of romances. The film features early appearances by Marilyn Monroe and Robert Wagner, but it is Macdonald Carey who steals his scenes. The one weak spot is the old flame, played by Zachary Scott. He's too oily for us to believe Colbert's intelligent character would fall for him.
