Excess Baggage is a barren, unmoving comedy about Alicia Silverstone's staged kidnapping going amuck. In a desperate attempt to catch her father's attention, she runs into a car thief played by Benicio Del Toro, whose performance saves what otherwise would have been a complete waste. Skip it anyway.
