Duck Soup (1933)

Reviews and Comments

Many exalt this film as the best the Marx Brothers ever made. I'd be inclined to agree, if only Harpo had played the harp at some point, and Chico, the piano -- two trademark scenes conspicuously missing from this short feature. Yet the team's comedy was never funnier or more biting, brutally attacking establishment and convention with their witty one-liners and goofy shenanigans. Even casual viewers should find much to laugh at in this superior effort.
