Down and Out In Beverly Hills (1986)

Reviews and Comments

A wealthy resident of Beverly Hills, Richard Dreyfuss, saves the life of a bum, Nick Nolte, from an attempted suicide. Nolte is invited to stay a while, and he eventually upturns every aspect of Dreyfuss' life. The cast is in fine form, but the plot is lacking. And it's not particularly funny, either. Most of the film's entertainment value is mild amusement intrinsic to the story as a whole -- which is not a bad thing in itself, but here it's not enough to carry a full length movie.
