Dad (1989)

Reviews and Comments

The intricate essence of fatherhood is studied in this occasionally moving drama that assembles an unintuitive but interesting cast and tries just a little too hard to hit home. It's a partly rewarding, partly frustrating mix of genuine emotion and schmaltz; the balance is tipped in its favor by Jack Lemmon's touchingly human performance.
