I get the distinct impression that Chain Reaction is the movie Dave had in mind when he wrote much of The Filmmaker's Exam. "Does Kevin Costner have anything to do with your movie?" Well... no. "How about Keanu Reeves?" Aha! There's one! "Does your movie have a scene wherein the stars outrun a nuclear explosion?" Yep. Got one of those, too. "Does your movie have anything to do with cold fusion?" Oh, yes. And the list goes on.

Another question: what *exactly* is going on in this movie? No, better question: why should we care? I don't know, perhaps America just doesn't have enough respect for the character of "hip techno-geek with an attitude" (there's another!). No, I take that back; America has all the respect for that character that it deserves.

Response From RinkWorks:

You're absolutely right about those items in "The Filmmaker's Exam." However, I've never actually seen the movie -- it was my girlfriend who saw it and told me all about it. I'll watch it myself someday, and if it is truly as bad as you and she claim, I'll review it for the page. But it'll be hard for me to sit through it, because I absolutely *hate* Keanu Reeves.
