"Dawn of the Dead" is true classic, featuring hillbillies with shotguns killing off zombies slowly wandering down the hillside. Kind of makes you wonder why the zombies are such a threat, since they are never once seen moving quickly. They must be entirely threatening, however, since anti-zombie renegades must escape in a helicopter and land on a shopping mall, which, after cleared of zombies, becomes their new home. This movie includes a timeless joke about spam and the fact that you don't need a can opener since it comes with 'it's own key'! Unfortunately, their little shopping paradise (complete with ice rink and rifle store) comes to a crashing demise when bandito motorcycle dudes open up the mall to raid it and let all the zombies back in. Lots of blood. The movie is utterly unable to create true pathos for the one person bitten by a zombie and undergoing an unusually slow transformation. Despite all this, I have been unable to prevent myself from watching this movie half a dozen times.
