It started off bad with a disclaimer that basically said "this movie is a load of bunk, none of this will ever happen, but we just wanted to stir up trouble anyway."

It got worse when the F-18 pilot's instruments (including the ones NOT run by computer) went dead, causing him to instantly crash (obviously, he never thought of looking out the window rather than at his instruments).

It continued to get worse when a commercial airliner's altimiter gave faulty readings (interesting, since altimiters aren't date sensitive -- 3000 feet up is still 3000 feet up no matter what day it is) and landed sideways, skidding halfway down the runway in a powerslide. I like the idea of a jet that handles better than my sportscar, but somehow I doubt the probability.

I also liked all the analog gauges that failed throughout the movie, the best perhaps being a water pressure gauge in the nuclear power plant.

I particularly love how the movie's creators seem to have ignored all of the Y2K testing that's been going on for over a year, apparently believing that EVERYTHING in the country will fail.

The acting was sub-par, as can be expected for a made-for-Jerry-Springer-fans movie.

I'd comment on the plot, but there really isn't one. It's a ramshackle conglomeration of scenes that really don't have very much connection to each other.

The movie managed to change the laws of physics. Some items of note:

- Wings cease to provide lift when Y2K hits.

- Water can hit a 4,000 degree (F) nuclear reactor and not turn to steam.

- Water can cool an entire nuclear reactor by 2,000 degrees in less than three seconds.

In short, nothing in this movie even approached realism. It's a shame that those reading this review will probably never get the chance to see this movie that is oh-so-deserving of about 500 turkeys.

"Y2K" is the movie that future generations will make fun of us for, and as such is something that everyone should see. Be sure you're ready for a good laugh.
