This was a great movie. I knew it would be when I saw the tagline: "Where do you hide when the dark is alive?" How could it NOT be great? As I said, I was not disappointed.

We open with a scene of two teenagers doing far more than they ought to in a car on a date. Enter the bats, who, in their amazing strength, throw them through a windshield.

Beautiful! They were, of course, horribly mutilated after a trip like that, but despite the fact that their faces were hardly recognizable, examiners were still able to see the bite marks from the bat, as well as determine the radius (which was wildly inconsistent with the size of the bats actually shown).

The bats proceed to terrorize the small town of Gallup, Texas. What an excellent name. I shouldn't even have to mention that everybody and their grandmother owns a shotgun. Very cool shotguns, too...nobody had to cock them, ever. I want one of those.

There are so many more laughs waiting to be discovered. If I get bored, I may see it again. I highly recommend it.

Rating: four turkeys, but see it with somebody who loves bad movies as much as you do.
