I'm still trying to figure out what drew me to this movie in the video store. But I'm glad I picked it up. I thought it was hysterical. The opening scene is a magician performing. He is levitating his assitant. Reads a few phrases that could've been Latin out of an old book. Instantly, the assistant bursts into flame.

At least I think this was the first scene. The beginning of the movie is fuzzy. We see the magician again, with another assistant. During this time we meet the rest of the characters. The "leader" of this ragtag group of teens is found making a drug deal while on the "haunted house" ride in a local carnival. Coincidentally enough, the same carnival where the magician is performing.

Blah, blah, blah. Some stuff happens. The teens end up kidnapping the magician, his daughter, and his mute partner. They all end up going back to the magician's place, which is named Cthulhu Mansion.

Allow me to introduce the rest of the kidnappers. We have the "leader," Hawk; the guy who was shot earlier, his sister, the girl who is only after the drugs, and the guy she's into. Did I mention the fact they were all on drugs?

It started getting interesting when they left the magician's assisstant tied up but unattended. Big surprise: he escaped.

By this time, they've managed to let loose an ancient evil accidentally, and we've seen everyone pair off. The girl who was after the drugs went upstairs with her guy. But then she got hungry and went downstairs to the kitchen to get something to eat. Instead she got eaten by something. Her guy gets bored and goes after her. Finds nothing in the kitchen. So he randomly goes to the bathroom and gets in the shower. He is now trapped in the shower, which starts spraying blood, eventually drowning him. All the blood and the guy go down the drain, just before another character walks in.

There's a few scenes of the bimbo daughter and the guy who was shot. His face starts melting/erupting/decomposing. He continues to put weight on the injured leg, which the magician attempted to fix for him. The guy who was shot ends up being completely possessed by a demon. His sister is pulled out of the window by ivy and never heard from again. The "leader" was attacked and killed by a grouping of kitchen knives that were flying around. The demon ended up leaving the guy who was shot and entering the magician. The house explodes, and the cast iron fence outside bursts into flame.

This place was plagued by a demon of sorts, whose existence was never really explained. This demon, who we never see until he started possessing humans, caused a lot of problems that resulted in inane dialogue.

Scene to watch for: The midnight snack/kitchen scene.

Best line: After the magician produced a cigar for the cop: "You know I quit smoking."

Scene that makes you go "Huh?": Why is the drug deal going down on the ride? And how come no one noticed the disappearance of the second guy?
