Recent Movie Trailers

My favorite thing about going to the movies -- aside from actually watching the movie, anyway -- is seeing new trailers. I know I can watch them online, but I see enough movies in the theater that I generally like to just see them fresh in the theater. Here are some trailers I've seen lately and my thoughts on them.

Deja Vu

The trailer may spoil some of the movie, but the opening is pretty clever. The first 15 seconds or so plays, then immediately replays, including the studio logos -- deja vu. The one at Apple's site is a little different than the one I saw in the theater, and to its detriment, but it's still a clever way to get across the point.

Ghost Rider

I like it when a trailer puts it all out there: this is going to be a terrible movie, and whoever cut the trailer seemed to realize that. The fades and revving motorcycle at the beginning, and then "You should be taking a dirt nap after that ragdoll today" is absolutely hilarious.

I love the operatic music and highbrow title cards, as though this is going to be a serious drama. Yeah, a great character study about Ghost Rider. I can't wait!

The Good Shepherd

This is one of those trailers that is pretty bland, but the movie looks so good that I forgive the trailer.

Let's Go To Prison

There's no way this is a good movie, but about the first half of this trailer is pretty funny. It's pretty rare that half of a trailer focuses around one joke but I guess if your movie only has one funny joke, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Anyone else seen any interesting trailers lately?
